About the Setar :   Setar instrument with its special features has long been the companion of Iranian mystics and poets. It has been a partner in their mystical journey. At the same time, the artists and musicians were particularly interested in this musical instrument. Therefore, in addition to the musicians whose main instrument was Setar, some other musicians also chose it as their second musical instrument to enjoy the music. The main features of Setar are penetrating, delicate and gentle sound, diverse sound capability in different parts of the instrument, ability to pluck single-string or drone, ability to create audio variations by switching plucking with right hand, ability to play the music with side plectrum such as the back of the nail, sitting and wrist «Tanburi». You can find this variety of sound and plectrum in a few instruments. Setar has a proportionate structure. It has a pleasing appearance as a musical instrument. It does not impose an abnormal and pressing body position to the musician while playing. Because of its low weight, the musician can carry it with him. For today)s dense, stressful lifestyles, the natural volume of the Setar sound seems desirable. This has become more evident over the years, with the advent of the sound industry, by finding a solution to the challenge of increasing the volume of live band performance. All the features that have been mentioned along with the feature of full and desirable performance of Dastgah musical system and Iranian folklore music as well as the ability to perform a variety of rhythmic pieces with traditional and new forms has made from Setar a complete musical instrument.

Authenticity and Progress :   The credibility and reputation of every nation is rooted in its nations cultural, artistic, and scientific background. Just as age and background provide respect for a person in society, a positive background also gains a positive character for a society in global community.

That becomes a strong point in order to qualify for common economic and political negotiations in today’s world. This point that has been taken into consideration and is obvious in most Western countries. Despite technological advances in the last century, they have never been willing to abandon their traditions. The history of Iranys thousand-year-old civilization is also full of artistic, literary, and scientific figures that have had many positive effects on human evolution today. In various sciences, the name of many Iranian celebrities have been registered in the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). People like Kharazmiss «father of algebra», «Abourayhan Birooni,» Father of Anthropology «, Jaber Ibin Hayan, «Father of Chemistry» from Toos Khorasan, Ibn Sina and Jawzjani, who were named the chief of medical sciences after Hippocrates as «the father of medical science», Khaaja Nasir Tusi, founder of the worlds first observatory in Maragheh, Zakaria Razi, who discovered alcohol, Abdul Qader Maraghehei, one of the world»s first music theorists, Safiuddin Ermoy, the musician, Bozjani, mathematician and many others. In the field of poetry, literature and philosophy, there are many celebrities in the history of this land who are known in the East and West, such as Ferdowsi, Rumi, Hafiz, Saadi, Nasser Khosro and many others. The people of the land of Iran have the potential and ability to thrive in all fields. However, the slow pace of this progress in some areas over the last hundred years, will be markedly enhanced by the strengthening of two characters. The first is to reinforce the preference for national and collective interests over individual interests, the second to strengthen the character of collectivism and group work. Perhaps the original Iranian music has been one of the relatively successful examples in this field in recent decades. By favoring the promotion of authentic and national art for financial and personal gain, artists in this field have taken the lead in the development of Iranian music. Along with preserving authentic Iranian music styles such as solo and improvisation, they also expanded the band performance. An increase in the audience of this type of music and those interested in learning Iranian instruments show the success of this move.

Hoping for more glory in Iran
